Julian Draxler's Final Destination Decided At Last

After several speculations, prolific attacker, Germany international, Julian Draxler, a former Arsenal target has finally signed a four-year deal with a new club. 




Julian Draxler has officially completed his move from Wolfsburg to Paris Saint-Germain after the French champions confirmed the arrival of the Germany international on January 3rd, 2017.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder has signed a contract for a reported 36 to 40 million euros ($37.5 million – $42 million) that will keep him at the top French club until the end of June 2021.

The exact transfer amount is not know as both clubs have agreed not to disclose the exact financial details of the transaction but a source close to PSG told ESPN FC the deal is an initial €35 million with the potential to rise by another €10m through bonuses.

Draxler, part of Germany’s 2014 World Cup-winning side, said he was proud to join the current French champions, ending an acrimonious spell at his German club.

"It is with great joy and anticipation that I join Paris Saint-Germain," Draxler told the club's official website.

“I will be discovering a new country, a new championship and am very proud to embark on this new stage as part of a club that has become a reference in Europe and has recruited many very great players in recent years. I will do everything to help PSG win new trophies and continue to grow internationally.” Draxler said in a club statement.

Draxler was unsettled at his German club and ruffled feathers last year when he announced publicly that he wanted to leave Wolfsburg, prompting coach Valerien Ismael to say the player was causing ‘confusion’ in the team. His attitude with this season so far as also been seriously criticized as he failed to make impact after he was unable to move.

He was previously a target for Arsenal, only for a long-term injury to end his chances of an Emirates Stadium switch.
